Shri Ramakrishna Ashrama has been organizing competitions on the occasion of the Swami Vivekananda Birthday Celebration for the last 56 years. This year also on the occasion of the 161st birthday of Swami Vivekananda and to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav competitions were organized for 18 days from 7th December 2022 to 25th December 2022. There were five types of competition, viz., Recitation (Gujarati, Hindi, Sanskrit, and English), Chorus Bhajan singing, Traditional Dress depicting our gods, sages, saints, and freedom fighters, and Elocution (Gujarati, Hindi, and English) and Drawing.
On 5th October 2022 participation forms were sent to 295 schools for the students of class 1 to Class 12, out of which 8124 students of 177 schools participated enthusiastically. Competitions were arranged in 152 classrooms in which 13 schools received prizes in Chorus Bhajan Singing and 772 students received prizes in other competitions. All participating students were served snacks and given the book “Yashasvi Vidyarthi Jivan and Swami Vivekananda’ and accompanying parents were given the book ‘Divya Kripa’.
Competitions were organized under the guidance of monks in which 145 judges and 122 volunteers gave their valuable service.
Those students who received ranks between 2 to 5 will be given prizes in the competition office of VIVEC hall from 9th January 2023 to 19th January 2023 from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm. In the same way, 1” prize winners will be given mementos, certificates, etc during the function on 22nd January 2023 in the august presence of monks and other dignitaries in the VIVEC hall.
